What You Need To Know
Preparing to be a guest at BNI Energy:

Trying to explain what BNI is all about is a bit like giving a haircut on the phone! To really understand the BNI experience you need to visit our chapter. It will take just a couple of hours. However, it could open up a magnificent new way to generate serious business.

Details:
  • When: Every Tuesday morning at 7:00am (sharp) until 8:45am
  • Where: The Sutton Place Hotel. 845 Burrard St. (View Map)
  • Parking: There is plenty of metered parking on Hornby, Smithe between Burrard and Thurlow, and on Burrard outside the hotel (heading SOUTH only). Meters are free till 9am.
  • Investment: $20 includes a set breakfast
What to Bring:
  • Lots of business cards (you will need at least 2 upon registering at the front desk)
  • Prepare a 45-60 second 'infomercial' that tells us who you are, what you do and what your ideal referral is.
  • A guest, if you would feel more comfortable coming with a friend or if you know someone else who's interested in BNI

What to Expect:

The chapter will run through the BNI agenda. Upon arrival at 7:00 (sharp) am you’ll be introduced to the members informally. You’ll have the chance to tell people about your business while having a cup of coffee and some breakfast. At 7.30am the formal agenda starts and people will give presentations and pass business between themselves. You can give a 60 second presentation about your business. It’s the BNI agenda that really separates us from the competition because it’s been proven to work over the past 20+ years!

Join BNI Energy Now Before Your Competitor Does!!

Started in January 1985 by Dr. Ivan R. Misner, Founder & Chairman of Business Network Int'l., BNI provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment for men and women to further their business through word-of-mouth marketing.

Networking requires commitment. The most successful chapters of BNI are comprised of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. As a participant in BNI, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization*. A partial list of the policies of BNI are listed below:

(*) Note: In the event that BNI's general rules could potentially violate a professional's ethical code, the professional's ethics code shall govern.

What You Should Know:

  • Only one person from each professional specialty is permitted to join a chapter of BNI.
  • All participants should represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business.
  • Attendance is critical. If you cannot attend a meeting, you may send a substitute. This will not count as an absence.
  • Participation in the chapter by members is a key to the success of a group.  Members can participate by bringing bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their BNI chapter.

    Cost:

There are one year and two year participation options. See the Secretary/Treasurer of the chapter you visit for prices. If you apply to participate in BNI, your application will be reviewed by the chapter's membership committee, and you will be notified of the status before the next meeting.
